Dr. Bharat Kumar
BVSc & AH, DVM | Medical Director | Holistic Integrated Veterinarian
Dr. Bharat Kumar brings a thoughtful and compassionate approach to veterinary care, blending modern medicine with holistic healing to support pets in every stage of life. As the founder of Comfort Paws Mobile Vet, he believes that pets thrive when treated as whole beings — body, mind, and spirit.
Originally from Rohtak, India, Dr. Kumar grew up surrounded by animals — dogs, cats, goats, parrots, pigs, and buffaloes were part of daily life. His love of veterinary care was inspired by his great-grandfather, a veterinary nurse whose gentle approach left a lasting impression. Those early experiences shaped Dr. Kumar’s core values: compassion, practicality, fairness, and dedication.
After earning his veterinary degree in 2009, Dr. Kumar worked at Animal Aid Unlimited Shelter in Udaipur, caring for stray and injured animals. He later moved to the U.S., completing his clinical training at the University of Illinois and becoming licensed in 2017. Since then, he has practiced in both primary and emergency settings across Wisconsin, Illinois, and California.
Dr. Kumar’s passion for holistic care began early in life through meditation and energy work. He trained at the mediation center in the Himalayas and is a certified Reiki practitioner, integrating gentle energy healing into his care. He also completed training in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at Chi University, allowing him to offer a more integrative, personalized path to healing.
Dr. Kumar is committed to creating calm, low-stress experiences for pets and their families. Outside of veterinary medicine, he enjoys singing, reading biographies, and quiet time in nature.
“The smallest act of kindness toward a living being is a big step toward healing the whole existence.” — Dr. Bharat Kumar
